Ministry of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated on Wednesday, October 19, the new Consulate of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Kupang, NTT, Indonesia.

The Deputy Governor of the Province of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), Edson Fonai, who represented the Governor at the opening ceremony of the Consulate of Timor-Leste, said that "the new Consulate promotes the development of the working relationship established between the Government of Indonesia and Timor-Leste and collaboration between two countries so as to contribute to achieving the goal of common development in the areas of economy, education, culture, sports, among others".
H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that :
"The role of the Consulate in Kupang is essential to connect the two countries of Timor-Leste and Indonesia, which have friendly relations, through their land border. The movement of people, trade, cultural activities, sports and spirit of the Timorese students studding in Kupang are important factors that led the Government of Timor-Leste to create a fund to establish the Consulate building this year in this province ",
Minister Zacarias Albano da Costa thanked the Governor of the Province of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), and the authorities, who have always supported and with whom good coordination has been established from the beginning of the creation of the Consulate in Kupang up to its opening.
